Instrument Calibration Service

RadPro maintains a caesium-137 exposure facility for the calibration of radiation protection survey instruments.  Calibrations are traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the United States.  Depending on the characteristics and feature set of the instrument being calibrated, the following calibrations and tests can be performed:

  • Calibration of the instrument in rate-mode operation
  • Calibration of the instrument in integrate-mode operation
  • Test of alarm function (if this is a feature of the instrument)
  • Test of instrument performance under high dose rate conditions

We repair most makes and models of instruments and carry a range of the most common GM tube types in stock.  We also carry new displays and keypads in stock for Monitor 200 instruments.

Service Pricing

The standard charge for an instrument calibration is $250.00 plus GST per meter/detector/probe combination. The certification cost for a Monitor 200 is $200.00 plus GST.  Return freight is on-charged to the customer at cost.
